Sunbury, 40 kilometres from the centre of Melbourne, is a town in it's own right as well as being a suburb of the state capital. It was established in 1836 and named after Sunbury-on-Thames in Surrey, England.
As well as being home to a great deal of commuters working in Melbourne, Sunbury and the surrounding areas also has it's own industries, mainly agrictulture and service industry based.
The town also has a campus of the University of Victoria.
