Mount Gambier in the south-east corner of South Australia is the second most populated city in the state after the capital, Adelaide. The city is located almost exactly half way between Adelaide and Melbourne which makes it a popular stop-off for tourists travelling around the region.

Mount Gambier's primary industries are forestry and tourism, and one of the state's premier wine-making regions, the Coonawarra range, is just 30 minutes away.
